We took the Demon Spelling Unit Test.
We then did vocabulary for chapter 8, read, and did the study guide of The Outsiders. We played Sentences Jeopardy. Those students who had no missing assignments had free time. We did some practicing for the Demon Spelling Test that we have tomorrow. The groups came up with a paragraph misusing commonly confused words, then we went through as a class and corrected them. If the students were absent for bellwork, they need to come up with a paragraph using the commonly confused word incorrectly, underline the commonly confused word, and put the correct version next to it. There should be 8 errors.
We put our essays in UtahCompose, and the students used it as editing time. We also used 20 words in sentences from the Outsiders Vocabulary. If students got done early, they worked on Outsiders Tic-Tac-Toe. Students did a peer review of a peer's essay. If they were not done, they had to continue working on their essay, and had to find someone outside of class time to review their essay.

They need to include the page number where they found reason for the action. Example: Character --Significant Action--Reasons why I think s/he did it Darry--He yelled at Ponyboy for coming home late.--I think he yelled at Ponyboy because he was worried and doesn't want Ponyboy to be thrown into a boys' home (50).
