We did 3D Vocabulary Exercise. We read Scene 1, and answered questions #1-4 for Act 2. Then, we did character analysis for Peter, Mr. Van Daan, Miep, and Mr. Kraler. We also did a rationing activity. Tues. Feb. 28 We did the Verb Tense Consistency Paper. We read scenes 2-3. We answered question 5 for Act 2. We did character analysis for Margo, Mrs. Van Daan, Mr. Van Daan, Mr. Dussel, and Mrs. Frank. We studied lesson 3 vocab words using Quizlet. (Available on Language Tab.)

Tues. Feb. 21
We practiced identifying helping, action, and linking verbs on a powerpoint. We wrote down the vocabulary words from Lesson 3. We started reading The Diary of Anne Frank Play. We talked about the study guide we will be completing throughout the course of reading it. Wed. Feb. 22 We answered questions 1, 3, 4, and 5 on the Anne Frank Study guide. We did vocabulary lesson 3A. Thurs. Feb. 23 We filled out the character chart for Anne, Mr. Frank, Mrs. Frank, Peter, Mr. Van Dann, Mrs. Van Daan, Miep, Mr. Kraler. Then we read scene 3. We filled out the character char for Margot, Mr. Dussel, and Mrs. Van Daan. We also answered question 3 on the study guide. We started the verb tenses chart. Fri. Feb. 24 We did Vocabulary Lesson 3B/3C We read scenes 4 and 5 of The Diary of Anne Frank. Then, we filled out the character chart for Mrs. Frank, Margot, Mr. Dussel, Anne, and Mr. Frank. We also answered questions number 7-10 on the study guide. We finished the verb tenses chart, and worked on missing assignments. We learned about analogies. We learned about how to analyzed a prompt: Purpose Audience Subject Type Then we looked at the prompt the students will be writing about: Write a minimum 5 paragraph informative essay to explain what the Night of Broken Glass was, why it happened, and what the far reaching consequences of the night were on Germany and on the Jewish people. Be sure to use text evidence and elaboration in your writing. Afterwards, we watched a video, and read articles and students picked out evidence to use for their essay. (Available on Google Classroom) Tues. Feb. 7 We practiced Analogies, studied vocabulary, and talked about the difference between action and linking verbs. We did the worksheet, "What is a Verb?" We then read more articles about Kristallnacht to find evidence for the essay. Wed. Feb. 8 We took the Vocabulary Lesson 2 Quiz. We looked at an example body paragraph, then students started typing up their first body paragraph. (Topic- Causes of the Night of Broken Glass). Thurs. Feb. 9 We did a linking verbs worksheet. We read the article, "Boys Who Fought the Nazis" and filled out the Power of Information. *Note 7/8 went to the school play. Fri. Feb. 10 We practiced learning the helping verbs via the song on youtube We worked on our body paragraphs of the Krstiallnacht essay.
